I have been the owner “Body by Chris”, a private personal training studio in Sacramento California for over 20 years. Yes I said over 20 years as I am one of the old timers in our field. I had told her I wouldn't work at a job for 30 years that I hated every second of only to pray for retirement and death. That just wasn't what I was born to do.

So I have been to where I have almost had to give up my dream of being a personal trainer. I lived in fear of losing my business. I didn't have enough money to pay my bills. I didn't even own a car. I rode my bicycle to and from work and taught aerobics classes so that I could live on fried cheese toast in butter with syrup over it. Which actually tastes very good, but can be pretty fattening.
If it were not for the generosity of girlfriends I would have been sunk long ago. I got real good at knowing when to show up when folks were cooking meals let me tell you.

I was struggling just to eat. I was embarrassed that I had no car. I taught at a aerobics studio owned by a famous instructor who was driving a vet. Yes a corvette. He had tons of women after him and there I was peddling up on my "Target" bought bike. To top it off my sons started to live with me. I was ashamed to even be their father. We lived on hamburger helper. Which to this day one of my son's refuses to eat ever again!
I desperately wanted to be free of the constant worry of not having enough business to survive and it lead me in search of answers. I had been interested in marketing since my college days before I dropped out to start my business.

I was able to buy one of my son's a car for his graduation, granted it was a used car but I paid cash for it. I bought my ex-wife a car also and I purchased 2 vehicles for myself. A used toyota truck and a huge chrysler lebaron that I had always wanted. I like the old gangster style cars and new cars were of no interest to me until I purchased a new truck a year ago.
During my 2nd year of using this system I actually took my first vacation ever and started traveling. At almost 44 years of age I had never had a vacation! I was able to command the amount of clientele and get rid of my fear of never having enough clients. So I could pick and choose whom I wanted as a client and I actually had a waiting list of people who wanted to train with me. I have been in the local newspaper several times due to my system and I feel free at last! “Now I want to share with you how I did it” I am actually looking at retiring from my business and renting it out to my son Donni who is just finishing up his degree to become a coach at the local schools. He has a family of his own and my goal is to move to Sedona Arizona and restart my life and business. A dream of mine since I was very young.
